Air Traffic

- Airport Erfurt
Erfurt International Airport is around ten kilometers distant, and is also accessible by streetcar. Every day, it offers scheduled service to Cologne-Bonn, Hamburg and Munich. Thanks to the service to Munich, passengers can connect directly to Lufthansa’s global network of flights.
It takes one-and-a-half hours to arrive at the intercontinental Leipzig/Halle Airport in Central Germany, and two-and-a-half hours to reach Europe's second largest airport, Frankfurt. Travelers can also ride an ICE train directly from Erfurt to Frankfurt Airport.
Erfurt Airport offers companies attractive air cargo handling capabilities. Schenker Deutschland AG utilizes Erfurt Airport as a logistics location. TNT Express GmbH operates an air hub at the airport. In 2007, it will add a road hub and a separate branch office.
