Anger, once a woad market (Woad Square), is the central shopping street in Erfurt. Historic, captivating Gründerzeit buildings on Neuwerkstraße, Schlösserstraße, Fish Market, Marktstraße right down to Cathedral Square make shopping downtown a unique experience. The area between the Merchants' Bridge, Small Market, Fish Market und Long Bridge teems with exclusive boutiques, galleries and crafts stores.

Mondays to Saturdays from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., Cathedral Square is the scene of a bustling market. There are stands selling fresh Thuringia wares like vegetables, fruit, meat, bread, dairy products, pasta and flowers. Some vendors even offer exotic delicacies to tickle your taste buds.
